This free eBook describes the popular models of emotional intelligence and the tools that are used to measure it in each case. The types of models available to measure an individual's levels of emotional intelligence are known as Ability, Trait, and Mixed models. There are at least 15 models of emotional intelligence, each with its own proprietary assessment tool.

Chapter 1 - Measuring Emotional Intelligence
Tests that attempt to measure emotional intelligence use either self-report questionnaires, 360 degree questionnaires, or performance questionnaires. Self-report questionnaires ask you to report on your abilities, skills, and behaviors. 360 degree questionnaires ask your boss, co-workers, and subordinates about your behavior, whereas performance questionnaires ask you to provide a solution to a practical problem.
